Cash left unused on the plot is unfinished progression in Steal an Egg for Squishy Dumplings. This page orders plot upgrades against treadmill Speed, from the first session through Update 5 zones.
There is still no verified promo code as of October 2026, so every rank comes from play. Use Speed Training for belt habits and How to Make Money for keep and sell rules.
Two tracks
Plot and base upgrades raise how hard hatched Squishies work: income nodes, capacity, and other plot power that makes each successful steal worth more. Treadmill upgrades raise Speed so you finish steals, contest nests, and enter newer zones with margin.
Switch on purpose:
- Eggs dying on the way home means the next purchase is Speed.
- Escapes already feel comfortable and ranks feel expensive means the next purchase is plot income that funds the following Speed breakpoint.
- A new zone opening means Speed margin first, then income so the zone stays farmable.
Cosmetics wait until both tracks are ahead of the nests you are farming.
Early order
Early game ends when you hold a couple of reliable income Squishies and can escape common chases.
- Secure one hatch that proves income ticks. Getting Started shows that first loop.
- Buy the cheapest treadmill ranks that change sprint feel.
- Buy a first plot income or capacity node so each steal pays more.
- Alternate steal, short train, and buy. Do not dump the wallet into one track.
- Keep practice and mid-pressure targets while Speed is growing. See the priority bands.
Wide approaches from How to Steal Eggs protect the cash so it becomes an upgrade instead of a lost egg.
Mid order
Every purchase needs one sentence of justification.
| Situation | Buy first | Why it wins |
|---|---|---|
| Failed mid-pressure escapes | Treadmill Speed | Protects future hatch income |
| Easy escapes, slow upgrade pace | Plot income or capacity | Funds the next Speed block |
| Slots full of weak keeps | Sell junk, then income or Speed | Clears space and bankrolls the buy |
| Ready to sample harder nests | Speed breakpoint, then scout | Enter with margin |
Manual buys teach which rank actually changed your escapes. That memory matters when a patch moves prices or zones.
Update 5 readiness
Update 5 raises the movement floor for high-value nests. Before you treat a new zone as a farm:
- Confirm controls feel clean on your device.
- Bank cash for an emergency treadmill buy after a failed streak.
- Buy Speed until a scout lap feels calm, then spend into plot income so those eggs become lasting ticks.
- Re-audit keeps after new eggs land. A fresher lineage can out-earn an older staple.
Minimum Speed that sometimes works collapses when two rivals want the same nest. Buy the rank that makes escapes boring, then turn that boredom into hatch income.
Funding loop
- Steal a target you can finish.
- Hatch promptly so ticks start.
- Keep upgrades to the income floor. Sell duplicates and clear losers.
- Decide the next purchase before the next steal.
- Train briefly if the last escapes felt tight, then return to the field.
Hoarding unhatched eggs while the plot sits empty slows both tracks. Hoarding every Squishy forever also stalls you when a sell could have bought a breakpoint.
If you want a count of cycles, use Upgrade payback with numbers from your own board. Do not treat the form defaults as shop prices.
Mistakes
- Saving every coin for a dream nest while you still move at tutorial Speed.
- Maxing cosmetics before income nodes and treadmill ranks.
- Skipping the belt for a whole session because steals feel more exciting.
- Buying shop rows that do not change escapes or cash per minute.
- Entering a new zone with no cash buffer, then calling lost eggs bad luck.
- Selling your only high-tick Squishy for a vanity rank.
Write one goal: the next cash buys a named Speed rank, or it buys a named income node. Finish that goal before you browse the rest of the board.
